Frequently Asked Questions

Billing & Payment

Billing & Payment

  • After assessing your home, you’ll receive a customized solar solution outlining your estimated monthly payments. You can choose between two billing methods:

Flat Monthly Fee: A fixed amount paid each month.

Energy Generated: Payment based on the amount of energy produced.

  • After signing up for solar with Maxis, we will assign a billing cycle for you. Your first bill will reflect prorated charges based on your installation date.

  • If you relocate, it's generally more cost-effective to install a new solar system at your new property rather than moving the existing setup. Alternatively, you can sell the solar system with your property, which may enhance its market value.

  • If you terminate your contract, you will be required to pay a prorated amount to buy out the solar system, based on the remaining contract tenure.

  • Yes, you will still need to pay your TNB bills as usual. Solar panels help reduce your bill, but they do not eliminate it entirely.

  • To apply for the SOLARIS rebate, visit myTNB's Net Energy Metering page for details and instructions.

  • There is a low upfront cost of RM 1k should you decide to proceed with Maxis. However, a credit check will be required to determine if an advance payment is needed.

  • A typical Solar PV Panel System costs between RM 30,000 and RM 50,000 or more, depending on the system size. With Maxis, you only need to make an advance payment of RM 1,000. You can start saving on your electricity bills as soon as your system is installed!
