Here’s how to do a typical port-in to Maxis:

Step 1: Initiate port-in with Maxis

Sign up with Maxis and specify that you would like to switch your mobile number to Maxis. Upon successful registration, you will be issued a Maxis SIM while waiting for your mobile number to be released by your existing telco.

Step 2: Confirm port-in request and settle outstanding bills

Reply promptly to the confirmation SMS from your existing provider. Also ensure that you have cleared any outstanding bills or contract obligations.

Step 3: Activate Maxis SIM upon successful number transfer

Insert the Maxis SIM into your phone once your number has successfully switched over.

Additional Tips:

• Ensure your current line with your telco is active when you initiate port-in.
• Clear any outstanding bills or contract obligations with your current telco. Also unlink any linked services before initiating the porting process.
• Make sure the mobile number you want to port-in is registered under your ID (NRIC, passport or Army ID). Note that you need to be a principal line holder. Supplementary lines need to be converted into a principal line before they can be switched.
• Reply to SMS as per onscreen instructions and within the timeline stated. Note that SMS replies are case sensitive.
