• What is IP address?

  An IP address is a unique address that identifies a device on the internet or a local network. IP stands for "Internet Protocol," which is the set of rules governing the format of data sent via the internet or local network.

  We have two types of IP addresses:

  1. Private
  2. Public (Dynamic)

• What is the default IP configured?

  In line with providing better secured services, Maxis is privatizing its IPs which will prevent traffic & communication initiated from outside Maxis network to reach our users and it’s free of charge.

• How do I request for Public IP (Dynamic) and why do I need that?

  This is a niche service that is needed by customers who have special requirements such as port forwarding, certain gaming applications and IP CCTV settings. You may call us for now at 123 / 1800821123. 

• Is there any charges for Public IP (Dynamic) ?

  For new Public IP (Dynamic) request on 16 December 2022 onwards, the service is charged at RM10/mth as there is an increase in cost to provide the service. We are improving our service while making the subscription affordable. 

• I have Public IP (Dynamic) before 16 December 2022, will I be charged?

  You will continue to enjoy the service for free until March 2023. Your continued subscription will be charged at RM10/month, and it will be reflected in your bill from April 2023 onwards. You would be notified via email and SMS on the commencement of billing for this service.
