Roaming in Australia

Australian Government had authorized to disable 3G service effective 28 October 2024. Along with a new legislation, that only phones connected to Australian networks must be able to make emergency Triple Zero (000) calls over 4G. This change had also affected the roaming requirements for travelers coming to Australia.
The impact:
Impact on Maxis users with active International Roaming service may experience inability to connect to local network even with 4G device and inability to make or receive calls and SMS without data.

Steps to get your phone’s IMEI:
Android: Phone Setting > About Phone
iPhone: Phone Setting > General > AboutMore about VoLTE and how to activate on your device refer here.
If your device is not compatible, alternatively, you can opt for WhatsApp call & messages over Wi-Fi connections.
