• Should I choose a postpaid or prepaid plan in Malaysia—which one offers better value?

It depends on your usage. Prepaid plans suit light users who want flexibility and no monthly commitment. However, if you use mobile data regularly, a postpaid plan typically offers better value—you get more data, often at unlimited levels, for a predictable monthly cost with no top-up hassle. For light to heavy users, the consistency and overall value of a postpaid plan generally outweigh prepaid options.

• What postpaid plans offer a free phone with a contract?

Maxis offers Zerolution, a device instalment programme with zero upfront payment and zero interest, available across all Maxis Postpaid plans starting from RM79/month.

Subscribers on Postpaid 139 and above also get a Yearly Upgrade option, allowing them to switch to the latest iPhone once 12 months or less remaining on their plan.
