Maxis eKelas' HIP StoryFest English Competition continues to help students gain confidence to speak in English
Congratulations to 60 winners of eKelas HIP StoryFest English competition 2022! The winners walked away with amazing prizes, including smartphones, book vouchers, and gift boxes filled with exclusive eKelas merchandise. More importantly, they improved their English proficiency and gained more confidence in using the language communicate. For the first time, first prize winners of every category will be invited to attend an immersive experience day in Menara Maxis, Kuala Lumpur.
In its fifth year, the competition scaled other heights with over 5,300 students participating. Supported by the "Don't Shy-Shy, Just Try" campaign, students overcame their shyness and fear of communicating in English and embraced the spirit of the competition, just give it a try!
The competition challenged students to complete tasks in four different categories: public speaking, poetry recitation, storytelling, and essay writing. To support the students, eKelas provided learning videos and notes, live tutorials, and physical workshops. Additionally, to reach out to students in the rural areas, a series of roadshows covering over 32 schools nationwide were conducted to help students in their storytelling task. Maxis employees as volunteers were on ground to record students’ videos for their entry submissions.
