100 startups will prepare themselves for a day of pitching and networking as Maxis is set to host the nation’s largest pitching session. Happening this 10 December at APW Bangsar, the Maxis Market Access Day 2019 will bring over 30 of Malaysia’s largest corporates, venture capitalists, angel investors and the ever-growing startup ecosystem all under one roof.
Participating startups are required to be technology enabled with an existing service offering in the market and a growing customer base. These startups are from six verticals which are Big Data & Analytics, FinTech, PropTech, E-Commerce & Retail, Internet of Things and Enterprise Solutions. While most pitching sessions are for funding, another key focus of the session would be to create business opportunities between the startups and attending corporates and venture capitals. Among them include AirAsia, Ambank, Astro, Cradle, Golden Gate Ventures, Maybank, Sunway and Kencana Capital to name a few. All startups will also be given the opportunity to showcase their products and services in an exhibition open to the public.
“Maxis is committed to fostering innovation in Malaysia by helping great Malaysian ideas become great Malaysian businesses, especially in the digital area. Digital and telecommunications together have the potential to transform businesses and the overall economy, enabling many of these transformational changes to grow rapidly from creative start-ups. We are excited to be connecting these start-ups to establish leading businesses, to the benefit of both,” said Rob Sewell, Chief Digital and Transformation Officer, Maxis.
Partners of the Maxis Market Access Day 2019 include Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre (MaGIC), Malaysia Business Angel Network (MBAN) and Startupmamak. An exclusive pitch coaching session will also be offered to the shortlisted startups by Startupmamak with limited slots available.
