Maxis and Microsoft accelerate adoption of innovative digital solutions for businesses in Malaysia

In line with its ambition to be the leading ICT and solutions provider for Enterprise customers, Maxis is proud to announce its collaboration with Microsoft (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Microsoft) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), committing to use their respective expertise, technology and capabilities to create innovative digital solutions for organisations in Malaysia. Concurrently, the collaboration makes Maxis the first telco in Malaysia to offer fixed line voice calls with Microsoft Teams unified communications, as part of Microsoft’s Modern Workplace solutions.
The MoU will see both these leaders collaborate in three key areas, targeting both commercial enterprises and the public sector.
First, Maxis’ leadership in IoT and 5G, and Microsoft’s cutting-edge Azure IoT technology will enable industries to build smart utilities and other connected applications. This will drive economic growth and digitalisation in Malaysia as the country moves to becoming a smart city, in every city.
Second, the partnership will also leverage Microsoft Azure public cloud and Azure Stack services to enhance Maxis cloud services and meet the hybrid cloud needs of businesses in Malaysia. Maxis’ ambition to be a one-stop-solution provider for IoT solutions for businesses is a crucial outcome of this collaboration. Businesses will be able to create new industrial IoT applications faster and leverage data analytics to solve their most pressing business problems and market needs.
Third, Maxis will adopt Microsoft’s Modern Workplace solutions, which include Microsoft Teams, giving their employees the ability and flexibility to integrate their work, life and family. This includes the ability and processes to work from anywhere with a network connection, at a time that works for both the employee and the business and across multiple devices. The proven business benefits of embracing this workplace of the future mindset, is enhanced productivity, a results driven employee experience, where people are assessed on their deliverables not how long they are at their desks and finally, quality time with their loved ones. The MoU will also see Microsoft share its knowledge and expertise in the field of IoT and Cloud technology, to continuously diversify the applications of Maxis’ offerings in areas such as the development of smart cities, smart utilities and other connected solutions.
