Maxis brings festive cheer to local community at Kampung Kulim, Kelantan
It was a joyous occasion when Maxis recently engaged with elderly residents of Kampung Kulim, Tumpat, Kelantan, to bring festive cheer to them in conjunction with the recent Chinese New Year celebrations.
Food boxes, hygiene packs and wheelchairs were handed over to the residents, while Maxis volunteers joined forces on the ground to set up tents and helped out with the event preparations. Over 150 residents from the community who attend the event were also treated to a sumptuous buffet lunch!
As Kampung Kulim was one of the areas heavily affected by the recent floods, Maxis identified several families who needed crucial support to repair their homes. Repair works mainly revolved around fixing the roof for better shelter and protection.
The event was made possible through Maxis’ collaboration with Persatuan Peranakan Cina Kelantan (PPCK).
As part of its festive charity efforts, Maxis strives to make an impact to underserved communities and marginalised groups.
In December 2022, Maxis reached out to the community of Kampung Tabuan Dayak in Kuching, Sarawak, who had been hit by flash floods. In support of their needs, Maxis distributed 135 packs of essential food items to the families, as well as stationery sets and festive goodies for the children.
