Maxis and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) are collaborating to produce high-quality educational videos for Year 4 up to Form 5 students for Maxis’ flagship community programme, eKelas. The partnership was formalised with a Memorandum of Agreement between Maxis and UiTM.
“Our collaboration with Maxis will enable our students to explore their potential in content creation and enhance their knowledge in digital content production from experts in this field. This is in line with our commitment to provide innovative education for our students. We look forward to a fruitful collaboration,” - UiTM Vice Chancellor, Prof. Datuk Ts. Dr. Hajah Roziah Mohd Janor
“Content continues to be an important driver for our eKelas programme to make learning for students more engaging and impactful. Maxis is pleased to be collaborating with UiTM on this win-win partnership,” - Maxis Chief Executive Officer, Goh Seow Eng
With support and guidance of their senior lecturers and subject matter experts provided by Maxis, UiTM students will produce up to 100 videos on Science, Mathematics, and English, which will be uploaded onto the eKelas portal and app. The videos will be in the form of real-life role plays, experiments and animation to make learning more engaging for eKelas students, while enabling UiTM students to gain valuable practical experience in content creation. Last year, Maxis and UiTM conducted a pilot for the production of similar videos to test the content creation process as well as review and editing criteria.
Maxis eKelas provides after-school digital education content for Year 4 to Form 5 students, especially from rural communities. Students have access to experiential learning in Science, Mathematics and English through a combination of live tutorials, group learning and competitions via the eKelas portal and app. To date, there are more than 75,000 students registered on the eKelas portal.
Recently, two new subjects were added to the eKelas portal and mobile app – Bahasa Melayu and History – for Form 4 and Form 5 students. These platforms were also refreshed with a more user-friendly interface, personalised learning recommendations with performance analytics, gamified learning experiences with daily challenges plus a rewards system.
Students are encouraged to register with eKelas now at www.ekelas.com.my or download the eKelas mobile app on App Store or Google Play to sign-up for free.
