• What are the available roaming passes?

  Data roam passes are roaming Internet pass for Internet browsing whilst travelling abroad.

  These passes are available for Maxis Postpaid subscribers.

  There are 6 Data Roam Passes:

  • 1 Day Unlimited Data pass at RM29 (single country pass)
  • DataRoam Pass at RM38/day (single country pass)
  • 3 Days ASEAN Plus pass at RM39 (multi country pass) - new, available from 19 Oct 2023.
  • 7 Days ASEAN Plus pass at RM 49 (multi country pass)
  • 15 Days Multi-Countries Data Pass at RM99 (multi country pass) - - new, available from 19 Oct 2023.
  • 30 Days Multi-Countries Data Pass at RM149 (multi country pass)

  Note: Data roam passes do not cover call and SMS usages and data usages in Maritime (cruise ship) and OnAir/Aeromobile(aircraft)

  Fair Usage Policy 'FUP' applies during roaming i.e. Upon exhaustion of the respective pass’s fair usage quota, you may continue to surf for free at a reduced speed till the pass expiry. You may check the expiry of the pass through Maxis app.

• How do I subscribe to any one of the roaming passes?

  Auto subscription;

  • 1 Day Unlimited Data pass at RM29
  • 1 Day DataRoam Pass at RM38

  Subscribe via Maxis app, go to Service Details > Roaming Passes & Rates for:

  • 1 Day DataRoam Pass at RM38
  • 3 Days ASEAN Plus pass at RM39* - new, available from 19 Oct 2023.
  • 7 Days ASEAN Plus pass at RM 49*
  • 15 Days Multi-Countries pass at RM89* - new, available from 19 Oct 2023.
  • 30 Days Multi-Countries pass at RM119* *If you buy any of these long validity passes before your 1 Day Unlimited Data/ 1 Day DataRoam pass expires, you will only be charged for this pass.

  Note: If you are a principal line user, you may assist your share/ supplementary users to activate Data Roam pass via Maxis app, go to All Services and select the line you wish to activate Data Roam pass, tap on Roaming Passes & Rates, select the destination country, select the pass you wish to purchase, confirm you have selected the correct pass and tap OK.

• What is the Fair Usage Policy for the passes and how does it work?

  We offer unlimited internet with Fair Usage Policy (FUP). Upon reaching the. FUP limit, you will be informed and will be surfing on a reduced speed.

  The fair usage is 2GB of high speed data daily and unlimited quota at a reduced speed of 1Mbps which allows fairly good user experience for standard definition streaming.

• There are so many available passes, which one is the most suitable for me ?

  Here is the summary of where you can use each of the passes:

  1 Day Unlimited Data (single country pass)	RM29	Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Laos, Macau, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand & Vietnam. This pass is country specific. Example, if you bought the pass in Singapore, and travel to Indonesia on the same day, the pass is not applicable for Indonesia, and you have to get a new pass for Indonesia.	Use this pass if your stay is only 1 day. This pass will be activated automatically when your data roaming usage is detected and reaches a preset limit. If this pass is activated and you activate one of the following passes on the same day/before the pass expires, the charge for this pass will be waived. 3 Days ASEAN Plus pass or 7 Days ASEAN Plus pass or 15 Days Multi-Countries Data Pass or 30 Days Multi-Countries Data Pass
  3 Days ASEAN Plus pass (multi country pass)	RM39	Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Laos, Macau, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand & Vietnam.	If you are going to one or more of the listed countries, choose this if your stay is more than 1 day and not more than 7 days. If your stay is longer than 7 days, activate either 15 days or 30 days Multi-Countries Data Pass for greater savings. You may schedule this pass 14 days prior to your arrival date via Maxis app or activate it upon arrival. You have to activate this on your Maxis app, Maxis Care, and Easy Menu *100# You may activate this pass at departure or day 1 of your arrival. If you activate this pass and the 1-Day Unlimited Data on the same day; the charge for the 1-Day Unlimited Data will be waived.
  7 Days ASEAN Plus pass (multi country pass)	RM49
  1 Day DataRoam Pass (single country pass)	RM38	Available for more than 100 over countries. Check availability on Maxis app or web at https://www.maxis.com.my/en/mobile-plans/maxis-roaming/	This pass will be activated for you automatically when your data roaming usage is detected and reach a preset limit. Use this if your stay is only 1 day or if 15 or 30 Days Multi-Countries Data Pass is not available. If this pass is activated and you activate the following passes on the same day/ before the pass expires, the charge for this pass will be waived. 15 Days Multi-Countries Data Pass or 30 Days Multi-Countries Data Pass
  15 Days Multi-Countries Data Pass (multi country pass)	RM89	Available for more than 70+ over countries. Check availability on Maxis app or web at https://www.maxis.com.my/en/mobile-plans/maxis-roaming/	Choose this pass if: your stay is more than 2 days in countries with 1 Day DataRoam pass and this pass is also available or your stay in countries listed in Asean Plus is more than 7 days. You may schedule this pass 14 days prior to your arrival date via Maxis app or activate it upon arival. You have to activate this pass on your Maxis app, Maxis Care, and Easy Menu *100# If you activate this pass, and charge for 1-Day DataRoam pass or 1-Day Unlimited Data pass which is activated on the same day, this will be waived.
  30 Days World Unlimited Data (multi country pass)	RM119
