Bridging the Digital Divide: Maxis Champions GenAI for Youth

Bridging the Digital Divide: Maxis Champions GenAI for the Youth - Pic 1

We had a blast at the National AI Office (NAIO) launch on December 12, 2024!

Our star of the show was our flagship STEM competition, Misi Jelajah Digital (MJD), designed to give students and teachers hands-on skills to create powerful AI solutions. This year’s theme, "GenAI For Good," shows how committed we are to making AI both accessible and ethically sound.

We were thrilled to hear the Honourable Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, speak about AI's potential to boost human creativity and problem-solving. Our mission to train STEM teachers aligns perfectly with his vision of using AI to enhance—rather than replace—human talent.

The day got even better when the Prime Minister stopped by our booth! Our Chief Information Officer, Ng May Ching, shared how MJD is making waves, reaching over 7,200 students. The Minister of Digital, YB Gobind Singh, also dropped by to see how our MJD workshops focus on both technical and ethical GenAI practices.

Engaging with students at the launch was a total highlight! We celebrated the creative work of their peers, like posters and captions created using GenAI tools such as ChatGPT and Ideogram.

At Maxis eKelas, we’re all about inspiring the next generation with the skills, confidence, and ethical mindset needed to thrive in the world of AI!
