Digital Inclusion: Becoming Part of the Solution
Over the past year, from August 2023 to August 2024, Maxis has made a sustained commitment to advancing education and reducing the digital divide by donating 321 refurbished laptops to 83 schools and 4 Community Learning Centres. This effort aligns with Maxis’ CSR pillars, which focus on championing education through technology and increasing digital learning opportunities, particularly for underprivileged communities.
By providing these laptops, Maxis aims to empower rural schools to adopt digital tools and enhance the learning experience for students, while also expanding the reach of eKelas—Maxis' flagship after-school learning initiative. eKelas provides sustainable learning support and access to digital resources, opening new doors for students to engage in digital education.
The schools that received these laptops include 13 schools with majority B40 students, 9 schools recognised for their achievements in the eKelas Misi Jelajah Digital Misi Sekolah program, and 50 schools that participated in the Duta Digital initiative in collaboration with District Education Departments. Through this effort, Maxis reaffirms its commitment to creating equitable access to digital education and empowering the next generation.
