An amazing start to eKelas HIP Max StoryFest competition with students in Penang

We kicked off the first of our HIPMaX StoryFest workshops with over 130 students in SMK Saujana Indah, Penang on 10 May 2024 and had the privilege to showcase the competition to YB Fadhlina Sidek, Minister of Education.

The competition, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MOE), will run from 2 May – 31 July 2024 with the theme, “Celebrating Malaysian Folklore”. This year marked the 6th year of eKelas’ HIPMaX StoryFest Competition! This initiative is part of our commitment to empower communities with much-needed skills for the future, including communication and English language proficiency! We believe that storytelling and theatre are great ways to improve language proficiency, communication skill, and confidence of students, especially those from challenging backgrounds with limited support or exposure to the language.

To further empower students, we will be running 16-hours of virtual workshops with KL Shakespeare Players via the eKelas portal and 50 physical workshops in schools across Johor, Kedah, KL/Selangor, Sarawak, and Terengganu during the competition period.
