Maxis Embarks On Largest 24-Hour iPhone 7 Delivery Operation, Fulfils 2,000 Phones 

At the stroke of midnight on 14 October, Maxis embarked on the 24-Hour Maxis Everywhere Express, Malaysia's largest 24-hour iPhone 7 delivery operation. All in all, Maxis fulfilled close to 2,000 phones nationwide in the span of 24 hours, covering both self-collection and deliveries.

400 phones were delivered at exactly 12.00 am midnight on 14 October to customers located across the country. This includes city centres such as Georgetown, Penang, as well as locations as far as Semporna, Sabah and smaller towns such as Jerantut, Pahang.

Among the 800 Maxis employees who took part in the midnight delivery was Maxis CEO, Morten Lundal, who surprised Jezzriq (Jezz) Bin Eddie Kismilardy, a keyboardist for the band Hydra, with his brand new iPhone 7 while he was performing together with his band.

“I'm ecstatic to get my hands on the iPhone 7. I am also truly honoured to have received the phone from Maxis' CEO himself. Thanks Maxis for the personal delivery!” said Jezz.

Among the many customers who received their iPhone at midnight was Noel Fong from Semporna, Sabah. A Maxis customer for 10 years, Noel is a big Apple fan and wanted to be among the first to own the iPhone 7.

“It was exciting to get my phone personally delivered to me at midnight. It’s something different that I’ve never experienced before!” he said.

Those who opted to self-collect their phones were equally excited. Mathanan A/L Mohan from Rawang was thrilled when he became the first Maxis customer to get his hands on the iPhone 7 Plus from the KLCC Maxis Centre. This marked the 2nd year in a row Mathanan was first in line at the KLCC Maxis Centre to collect his brand new iPhone.

“I’ve been upgrading my iPhone every year. I also own all the Apple gadgets and I’m looking forward to trying out the new features of the iPhone 7, especially the dual camera,” said Mathanan, a Maxis customer for over 10 years.

For customers who prefer to collect their phones, Maxis has expanded to over 100 self-collection locations nationwide - including all Maxis Centres and Maxis Exclusive Partners (MEPs).
