Maxis Announces Appointment Of New CEO Effective 1 May 2019
Maxis Berhad is pleased to announce the appointment of Gökhan Ogut as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to take office on 1 May 2019. He will be reporting to the Chairman and the Board. Gökhan, who was appointed as the Chief Operating Officer of Maxis since 1 Sept 2018, takes over from Robert Nason, who is currently the Interim CEO of Maxis.

Gokhan brings to Maxis his wide management experience in the telecommunications and fast moving consumer goods industries. He was previously the CEO of Vodafone Turkey. Before Vodafone, Gökhan was in senior marketing as well as general management roles with a number of large and well-known companies like Danone and Procter & Gamble, holding positions that had domestic as well as global responsibilities in Turkey, US and France. Gökhan holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Boğaziçi University, Istanbul, Turkey and a Master in Business Administration from University of Illinois, Chicago.
Robert will remain on the Board as a Non Independent Non Executive Director, and will be appointed as Chairman of the Business and IT Transformation Committee and a member of the Audit Committee. The Board has provided for a smooth transition period between Gökhan and Robert which will expire at the conclusion of Robert’s contract as the Interim CEO of Maxis on 30 April 2019.
