Hotlink proudly presents Uni Legends MLBB 2024, its first esports competition featuring Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB), hosted especially for higher education institution students across Malaysia.
The Hotlink Uni Legends MLBB tournament is currently recruiting MLBB enthusiasts and esports gamers from now until 19 August 2024. The tournament will take place virtually starting September, with the grand finale held in October on campus at UiTM Shah Alam, where each team will be participating in various tournaments leading up to the grand prize pool of RM100,000.
We are super excited to be hosting Hotlink Uni Legends MLBB for the first time to expose university students in Malaysia to esports in a big way. With MLBB being one of the most popular mobile games in Malaysia, we hope this event reaches out to a wider group of youths and provides them with an outlet for teamwork, strategy, and wholesome fun, - Rabiras Rajakrishnan, Head of Postpaid at Maxis.
This Hotlink esports tournament is one of the many esports initiatives supported by the Malaysian Ministry of Youth and Sports, or Kementerian Belia dan Sukan.
The culmination of the tournament is a 3-day grand finale festival from 18 to 20 October, where the top 8 teams in the competition will be competing for first place. The festival will also feature an array of food bazaars, urban festivals, and music festivals for visitors, thanks to official partners such as official gaming partner MOONTON Games, finale venue sponsor Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), and Hotlink Rewards F&B partner ZUS Coffee.
Players are invited to participate in Hotlink Uni Legends MLBB by forming a team of six. To be eligible, all team members must be existing students (Malaysian and/or international citizens) studying at any higher education institution in Malaysia. There are no age restrictions for participation.

Hotlink Uni Legends MLBB tournament is supported by MOONTON Games’ Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Malaysia. The esports league is Malaysia’s most popular and longest running and serves as a gateway for players to represent Malaysia at international MLBB tournaments. These include the recently-concluded Mid Season Cup (MSC) 2024, which saw Malaysia make history by winning its first major international MLBB tournament, and the upcoming M6 World Championship to be hosted by Malaysia in December.
