Maxis, Malaysia’s leading integrated telco, continues to make a positive impact through Maxis eKelas, its flagship community programme that aims to improve the academic performance of students in rural communities. As part of the programme, Maxis recently awarded Anugerah Gemilang eKelas 2024 grants to students from nine states across Malaysia in recognition of their academic growth.

Launched in 2017, the Anugerah Gemilang eKelas grant programme honours students who demonstrate significant progress in their educational journeys. In addition to academic improvements, students are assessed based on participation in eKelas activities and competitions, as well as their teachers’ endorsements on their individual growth and development.

During a ceremony held recently for the 2024 recipients, the grants jointly presented by Puan Fadzliaton binti Zainudin, Deputy Director, Educational Resources and Technology Division, Ministry of Education, and Goh Seow Eng, CEO of Maxis. The ceremony was also attended by representatives from the English Language Teaching Centre (ELTC) and Sports, Co-curricular & Arts Division (BSKK) of the Ministry of Education.

The contributions are aimed at helping the student populations of these schools, especially students in rural communities, to access digital learning resources such as Maxis eKelas.

Open to all students nationwide from Year 4 to Form 5, Maxis eKelas provides free access to quality education content in line with the Malaysian school syllabus, focusing on Science, Mathematics, English, Bahasa Melayu and History, as well as experiential learning.
