Maxis celebrates culture and togetherness with MySkills Foundation in the spirit of Deepavali
In the spirit of Deepavali, Maxis brought festive cheer to over 165 students at MySkills Foundation in Kalumpang, Hulu Selangor, with Maxis employees joining in a celebration of cultural diversity and togetherness.
From crafting intricate kolam designs to whipping up traditional Deepavali meals and treats like murukku, attendees were engaged in an array of activities that highlighted the rich traditions of Deepavali. Additionally, students also learned about sustainable practices through a hands-on gardening workshop, where they planted flowers to decorate the campus.
In the spirit of giving back to communities in need, Maxis also contributed kitchen appliances to the foundation and provided the students with school supplies.
MySkills Foundation is a non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering underserved youth through education, skills training, and holistic development programmes.
“We are grateful for the long-term partnership with Maxis, having collaborated on various programmes since 2015 to enrich the lives of our students. The interactions today between the Maxis team and our students fostered a strong sense of community and provided encouragement to our students, creating a memorable celebration for everyone.” - Dr. M. Shanmuga Siva, Chairman of MySkills Foundation
“We are happy to spend meaningful time with the students at MySkills Foundation students for this year’s Deepavali celebration. We have previously engaged with the foundation as part of our ongoing commitment to uplift and connect with the community. The Maxis team was certainly excited to take part in all the activities, we hope we were able to bring some festive cheer to the students.” - Mariam Bevi Batcha, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of Maxis
To inspire deeper connections this festive season, Maxis has also launched a heartfelt video that illustrates how moments of connection make celebrations even more special. The story follows a daughter who calls her mother for guidance on how to tie a saree, sparking past memories with her mother. Watch the video on https://youtu.be/gqMEusorN8Y
