Maxis continues to shape future-ready talent and drive youth empowerment through university partnerships

Maxis continues to shape young future-ready talent and drive youth empowerment through partnerships with Malaysian universities, including its latest collaborations with Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) and Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) who collectively account for over 30,000 students.
The partnerships were formalised at two MoU signing ceremonies hosted at Menara Maxis. Maxis was represented by Chief People and Transformation Officer, Patrick Er, with UMT Vice Chancellor, Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Zamri bin Ibrahim and UTHM Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Student Affairs and Alumni, Professor Ts. Dr. Abdul Rasid bin Abdul Razzaq as the signatories for their respective universities. They were also joined by fellow university representatives and students.
Aimed at advancing learning, career readiness, and digital skills while strengthening industry-academia ties, the key areas of collaboration include:
- Knowledge sharing by Maxis leaders and experts to provide real-world insights,
- Career opportunities through internships at Maxis and the Hotlink Campus Ambassador Programme,
- Special university packages for students and staff, and
- E-sports on campus and other joint programmes to promote student development.

The MoUs formalise and build on Maxis’ prior collaborations with both universities on various initiatives. At UMT, Maxis has supported several UMT programmes such as Program Jalinan Mesra Student Baru, UMT Liga Bola Hotlink Piala Timbalan Naib Canselor HEPA, ESG Global Young Leaders Summit and Anugerah Ikonsiswa. Similarly, at UTHM, Maxis has supported UTHM Convocation Festival and the Kad Prihatin Siswa initiative.
