Hotlink and MOONTON Games unveil first-ever tournament powered by the esports community, Hotlink x MPL MY Jaguh All Star
The MYR 50,000 one-day tournament will feature top athletes from MPL Malaysia (MPL MY), the nation's longest-running and most popular esports league
KUALA LUMPUR, 29 April – Hotlink by Maxis, Malaysia's leading integrated telecommunications provider, has teamed up with MOONTON Games, the global video game company behind Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), to launch its first esports tournament powered by the community.
The Hotlink x MPL MY Jaguh All Star tournament will empower fans by allowing them to pick the teams competing in the MYR 50,000 prize pool event. These will comprise top-tier professional athletes from MLBB Professional League Malaysia (MPL MY), the nation's longest-running and most popular esports league. Hotlink x MPL MY Jaguh All Star will be held on 18 May at the MPL MY Arena at Stadium MBSJ Serdang Jaya, after the final week of the MPL MY Season 13 Regular Season (Week 6 on 11 and 12 May).
As part of the partnership, the tournament will be powered by Hotlink's lightning-fast 5G network. Additionally, Hotlink users who attend the free event will receive event-limited Hotlink x MPL MY Jaguh All Star merchandise and be in the running to attend a meet-and-greet with the winning team.

The Hotlink x MPL MY Jaguh All Star tournament is the latest in Hotlink's many initiatives to captivate the MLBB esports community in Malaysia with the best gaming experiences. Appendix A: Hotlink x MPL MY Jaguh All Star Details
- Overview:
- The Hotlink x MPL MY Jaguh All Star tournament will take place on 18 May at the MPL MY Arena at Stadium MBSJ Serdang Jaya.
- Tournament Format:
- There will be four competing All Star dream teams comprised of one Captain, four other players, and one coach per team. All team members will be active players in the MPL Malaysia Season 13, as of 18 May.
- The tournament will have two stages – the Semi Finals (Best-of-Three), followed by the Grand Finals (Best-of-Five).
- Team Selection:
- Fans users will have the unique opportunity to pick the Captains of each competing team.
- The Captains selection will be based on a voting system conducted on the Hotlink x MPL MY Jaguh All Star website. Voting will run from 29 April to 2 May.
- Each team Captain will be responsible for selecting the remaining four players and coach. The four Captains will be announced on 5 May with the results of the selection to be broadcast on 5 May, during Week 5 of the MPL Malaysia Season 13 Regular Season. The full teams will be unveiled on 10 May.
- Merchandise Redemption
- After voting, fans will need to take a screenshot of the "Thank You" page and display this on the event day to redeem exclusive merchandise.
- Hotlink users will automatically enter a raffle to meet the winning team on 18 May, after the final match concludes.
